HBO wanted to support their show Watchmen with a robust digital campaign that would keep the fans engaged throughout the series

Mill Experience crafted multiple opportunities for viewers to participate in the world of Watchmen through AR: the perfect technology to immerse fans in its remixed universe.
Mill Experience handled the strategy and ideation for all concepts, and directly executed 2 out of the 5 that ultimately got produced.
SDCC Dr. Manhattan Booth Effect
To give audiences a sneak peek into the show, we created life-sized, immersive booths exclusively for San Diego Comic Con.
By outfitting the booths with custom AR tracking powered by Kinect sensors, users stepped inside to undergo a full-body transformation into Dr. Manhattan. Seeing themselves regenerate one body system at a time, all created to the highest visual fidelity using the Unity game engine.
Squidfall IG Effect
HBO capitalized on the show’s striking raining squid phenomena by bringing a massive squidfall to life on Instagram.
With every detail of the squids, from shape to physics, studied to ensure that every squidfall moment would be authentically represented in AR.
